Ministry
In Matthew 28:19-20 Jesus commanded us to take the
Gospel to all nations. We believe that this meant take
this Light next door and around the world even to the
very end of the earth. At Community Church we believe
that this does not mean to pick out some organization
that you might think or know is doing a good job and
give some financial or passing prayer support. We
believe that this great commission was given to every
person who is a believer. This commission is for some
to take the Gospel to their neighbors for others it is
taking the Gospel to distant nations where God has never
been shared. There are places still so remote that the
Gospel must be hand carried in by believers. We believe
that the Gospel of Jesus should still be spread from one
person to another, by the sharing of their personal
relationship with Jesus. Therefore, we are continually
involved in taking the Gospel to all nations by
encouraging and sending those among us to GO...
One mission we support was founded by a native son of
Manchester and a member of Community Church, Dr. Bill
Becknell, MD. He is currently the only full time
American surgeon in Russia. It is called "Agape Russian
Ministry". It consists of mobile medical clinics
operating out of Moscow and ministering mostly far North
into the Tundra and Artic regions of the nomadic tribes
of the Nenet's. By operating free medical clinics and
then presenting the Gospel of Jesus many thousands are
being saved for the Lord Jesus Christ. In these small
villages and close by towns churches have been and are
started and a minister placed who is teaching the word
of God to all who will listen. The medical "evangelist"
team returns regularly to help supply the physical and
spiritual needs. For seventy five years by law
Christianity was prohibited in Russia and now the door
is open and we must enter.
